Politics of Pakistan The  Politics of Pakistan  ( سیاسیاتِ پاکستان ) takes place within the framework established by the  constitution . The country is a  federal   parliamentary republic  in which  provincial governments  enjoy a high degree of autonomy and residuary powers. Executive power is vested with the  national cabinet  which is headed by  Prime Minister of Pakistan  ( Shehbaz Sharif ; since 11 April 2022), who works coherently along with the bicameral  parliament  and the  judicature .  Stipulations set by the constitution provide a delicate  check and balance  of  sharing powers  between  executive ,  legislative , and  judicial  branches of the  government . It entails understanding political ideas, ideologies, institutions, policies, processes, and behavior, as well as groups, classes, government, diplomacy, law, strategy, and war. A background in political science is valuable for citizenship and political action, as well as for future careers in government, law, business, media, or public service.   FLAG OF PAKISTAN The national flag of Pakistan (Urdu: پاکستان کا قومی پرچم‎) was adopted in its present form during a meeting of the Constituent Assembly on August 11, 1947, just three days before the country's independence, when it became the official flag of the Dominion of Pakistan. It was afterwards retained by the current-day Islamic Republic of Pakistan. The flag is a green field with a white crescent moon and five-rayed star at its center, and a vertical white stripe at the hoist side. Though the green color is mandated only as 'dark green', its official and most consistent representation is Pakistan green, which is shaded distinctively darker. The flag was designed by Amiruddin Kidwai, and is based on the All-India Muslim League flag The flag is referred to in the national anthem as Urdu: پرچم ستارہ و هلال‎ Parcham-e-Sitāra-o-Hilāl (lit. The story of  history of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan  began on 14 August 1947 when the country came into being in the form of Dominion of Pakistan within the British Commonwealth as the result of Pakistan Movement and the partition of India. While the history of the Pakistani Nation according to the Pakistan government's official chronology started with the Islamic rule over Indian subcontinent by  Muhammad bin Qasim  which reached its zenith during Mughal Era.
